Mebendazole itself does not directly interfere with assays, but the infection can affect results.

- Nematode infections trigger mucosal responses, so testing should ideally wait 14 days post-treatment to allow biomarkers to normalise.
- If testing cannot be delayed, note Mebendazole use on the request form so clinicians can interpret results with caution.
- Limited research (mostly in children) suggests Mebendazole may increase microbiome diversity and Actinobacteria levels. sIgA levels were reduced in infected children but increased after treatment.
