Important: Extended and Comprehensive kits require all three collection devices to be returned.
Before you package your kit
Make sure you have:
Labelled all three collection devices.
Frozen the supplied Microba ice pack.
Collected your sample on an approved collection day (Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday)
Step 1: Pack Device 3 (Swab)
Place Device 3 (swab tube) into Pouch A.
Seal the pouch securely.
Leave the absorbent sheet inside the pouch.
Do not refrigerate Pouch A.
When you're ready to return your sample, place Pouch A directly into the prepaid satchel.
Step 2: Pack Devices 1 and 2
Place the following into Pouch B:
Device 1
Device 2 (stool collection pottle)
Seal the pouch securely and leave the absorbent sheet inside.
Step 3: Refrigerate Pouch B
Place only Pouch B in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or until you're ready to post your sample.
Keep the supplied Microba ice pack in the freezer until you're ready to package your kit.
Step 4: Activate the temperature indicators
When you're ready to post your sample:
Remove Pouch B from the refrigerator.
Activate each temperature indicator by folding up and pulling the activation tab.
Place Pouch B and the frozen Microba ice pack into the thermal pouch and seal.
Step 5: Assemble your return kit
Place the thermal pouch into the kit box and then:
Close the kit box securely.
Place the kit box inside the prepaid satchel.
Add Pouch A to the prepaid satchel.
Seal the satchel securely.
Step 6: Return your sample
Take your sealed satchel to your nearest Australia Post outlet and lodge it over the counter as soon as possible after collection.
If you collected your sample on Sunday, return it first thing on Monday morning.
Do not place your sample in a street posting box.
Before you post
✔ Device 1 packed in Pouch B
✔ Device 2 (stool pottle) packed in Pouch B
✔ Device 3 (swab) packed in Pouch A
✔ Frozen Microba ice pack included
✔ Temperature indicators activated
✔ Thermal pouch packed inside the kit box
✔ Kit box and Pouch A placed inside the prepaid satchel
✔ Returning your sample over the counter at Australia Post
Common mistakes to avoid
Forgetting to include the stool collection pottle (Device 2).
Refrigerating Pouch A instead of Pouch B.
Forgetting to activate the temperature indicators before posting.
Using a household ice pack instead of the supplied Microba ice pack.
Posting the sample in a street posting box instead of handing it over the counter at Australia Post.
