The most effective way to review and understand your report is in consultation with your referring practitioner. Once they have received your results, they can share both the full virtual report and the PDF pathology report with you directly from their portal, explain the findings, and address any questions or concerns you may have.
As this type of testing requires a healthcare practitioner referral, standard pathology protocols apply. Reports are therefore released to referring practitioners 7 days prior to patient notification to allow time for clinical review. You will be notified 7 days after your Microbiome Explorer report has been released to your healthcare practitioner. Most practitioners will review and share the report with you during your follow up consultation.
In line with pathology best practice and patient safety requirements, we are unable to release reports directly to patients during this initial 7 day period unless the referring practitioner chooses to provide the report to you.
