Why does my kit look different?
From 6 October 2026, Microba introduced a new kit design that is the same in Australia and the UK. Your box is labelled Kit A or Kit B, and the sleeve shows the product range – Microba Microbiome Explorer or Microba GI Navigator. The way you collect your sample has not changed.
Which kit will I receive for my test?
Microba Microbiome Explorer Essentials ships in Kit A. Microbiome Explorer Extended and Comprehensive ship in Kit B with a Microbiome Explorer sleeve. Microba GI Navigator ships in Kit B with a GI Navigator sleeve.
My kit doesn't show the name of the test I ordered. Have I got the right kit?
Kits no longer carry individual test names on the front. You'll find the name of your test on the sticker on the end of the box and in your order confirmation email. If these don't match the test you ordered, please contact Customer Support and we'll help.
What's the difference between Kit A and Kit B?
Kit A is used for Microba Microbiome Explorer Essentials and includes one specimen transport bag. Kit B is used for Microbiome Explorer Extended, Comprehensive and GI Navigator, and includes two specimen transport bags, labelled Pouch A and Pouch B, plus a temperature monitor. Each kit has its own instruction booklet. Applies to: kits with a Test Kit A or Test Kit B booklet.
If you have an older kit, please follow the instructions contained within the kit.
Why has Microba changed its kits?
We've standardised our kits across Australia and the UK to make them simpler to use. Patient testing helped shape the new instruction booklets, which have one step per page and more photos.
Is the GI Navigator kit different from the Microbiome Explorer kit?
Microba GI Navigator uses the same Kit B contents and booklet as Microba Microbiome Explorer Extended and Comprehensive, with a dedicated GI Navigator sleeve. GI Navigator patients also complete a short online questionnaire.
