Has the way I collect my sample changed?
No. You collect your sample the same way as before. The only change is how you repack it: all devices now go in the fridge together. This matches what UK patients have always done. Applies to: kits with a Test Kit A or Test Kit B booklet.
Do I still need to keep the faecal swab separate from my other samples?
No. The faecal swab can be refrigerated, so you can keep all your devices together in the fridge. Your booklet shows each step. Applies to: kits with a Test Kit A or Test Kit B booklet.
What's in the new instruction booklet?
Each kit has one booklet – Kit A or Kit B. Booklets show one step per page, use more photos and fewer words, and are sized to hold in one hand while you collect your sample. Applies to: kits with a Test Kit A or Test Kit B booklet.
What do the numbers on the devices mean?
Each device has a numbered sticker – Device 1, 2 or 3 – that matches the steps in your booklet. Please leave the stickers in place. Applies to: kits with a Test Kit A or Test Kit B booklet.
What are Pouch A and Pouch B?
Kit B includes two specimen transport bags. Pouch A shows a faecal swab and tube icon, and Pouch B shows a collection cup icon. Your booklet tells you which device goes in each pouch. Kit A includes one specimen transport bag.
How do I use the temperature monitor?
Kit B includes one Microba temperature monitor; Kit A does not include one. Press and hold the button to activate it at the step shown in your Kit B booklet. It records temperature while your sample travels to our laboratory. Applies to: kits with a Test Kit A or Test Kit B booklet.
How do I know which kit I have?
Check the cover of your instruction booklet. If it says Test Kit A or Test Kit B, you have the current kit and the answers in this collection apply. If it shows Microbiome Explorer with an Essentials, Extended or Comprehensive badge, you have an older-style kit – nothing changes, so please follow the instructions included in your kit. If you're unsure, please contact Customer Support.
